Containers for Change makes it easy to turn your empty containers into change for a good cause.
By choosing Safe Haven Community, the 10¢ refund from every eligible bottle, can and container you recycle can be donated directly to support the work we do in our community.
Set it up once, and every container can make a difference.
Step 1 — Download the App
Start by downloading the free Containers for Change app to your phone.
The app is available for both Apple and Android devices through the App Store and Google Play. You'll use the app to set up your Containers for Change account and, once everything is ready, direct your recycling refunds to Safe Haven Community.
Step 2 — Create Your Account
Open the app and create your Containers for Change account.
Follow the prompts to enter your details and set up an account in your name. You’ll need to verify your account before you can add Safe Haven Community as the organisation you’d like to support.
Once your account is verified, you’re ready to add Safe Haven.
Step 3 — Add Safe Haven Community
Now you can choose Safe Haven Community as the organisation you’d like to support.
Once your account has been verified, open the app and tap the ‘+ Add’ option at the top of the screen. Search for Safe Haven using our details:
Member Number: 11691302
Organisation: Safe Haven Community
Add Safe Haven to your account and our QR code will be available in your app whenever you’re ready to recycle.
You’re now set up — and you only need to do this once.
Step 4 — Recycle & Support Safe Haven
Now you’re ready to turn your containers into support for Safe Haven.
Take your eligible bottles, cans and containers to your local Containers for Change refund point and deposit them as usual.
When it’s time to nominate where your refund should go, open the Containers for Change app and select Safe Haven Community. Your Safe Haven QR code will appear on your phone — simply hold it under the scanner at the refund point.
That’s it! Your container refund will be directed to Safe Haven Community.
And the best part: now that you’re set up, you can support Safe Haven every time you recycle.
