court support

Women in Domestic and Family violence attend court for a number of legal proceedings that assist in helping them and their family stay safe. The ordeal of attending court can be very overwhelming and even fearful, especially if you must face your perpetrator. Dealing with unfamiliar paperwork and legal proceedings that are foreign to many of them, having to go over the events multiple times, plus sitting in the courthouse waiting for your name to be called can be very stressful.

No one should have to be alone as they go through this process. Safe Haven Community want to be able to support to women and where able, provide some form of comfort that will assist in helping women navigate through the experience as well as possible.

Currently Safe Haven Community provides support to women attending the Southport Magistrates Court on the Gold Coast and hopefully, we will be able to extend this support to courthouses in other areas.
